Cherie & Jim are the new owners of The Farm on Deep River, a beloved place in the Deep River community and a place this wife/husand team have only one “rule” for and that’s The Farm is a GOOD VIBES ONLY place for all.

“I'm a native New Englander, born and raised in Massachusetts, while Jim is a Pennsylvania boy. We met serendipitously in 2015 and moved to Deep River six years ago, immediately falling in love with this special town.One of the first places I visited was this very farm – and we loved it. It was one of the places that made us fall in love with Deep River and its people. We found ourselves putting down roots here, looking forward to our retirement years in this wonderful community.

When the previous owners rehomed the animals and closed down the farm, Jim and I were heartbroken along with the rest of the town. So when the property came up for sale in 2024, we knew what we had to do – reopen The Farm on Deep River, make some repairs, plant some crops, and most of all, rescue and rehome some loving animals in need to share it all once again with the community we love.”

Cherie is the daughter of a retail store owner and has been a small business owner herself since the late 1990s. She is also a professional vocalist, performing often with her very successful band (which she co-founded almost 20 years ago in New York City). Most importantly, Cherie has been rescuing animals her entire life and started regularly fostering domestic animals in 2003 with various groups. Now, as owner of The Farm on Deep River, Cherie has fulfilled a livelong dream of rescuing livestock, water fowl, barn cats and raising a small farm herd of her own. In their first year of ownership, Cherie & Jim have rescued three llamas, four ducks, several chickens and goats. It’s a small, but tight-knit herd and everyone gets along harmoniously.
