Meet the llamas!
Miigwetch (Miig for short!) is a Connecticut-native Chilean llama — she was born on Thanksgiving morning 2016 at the Stamford Museum. She was in the news!
Her parents Rosie and Lakota were the musuem’s resident female and male llamas. Her name is the Anishinaabemowin word for grateful - the phrase chi miigwetch means “big thank you”. She was rescued, along with the other 2 llamas Maple, and her daughter Summer, were adopted from Rowanwood Farm in Newtown CT. Maple and Summer are Argentinian llamas.
