Meet the llamas!
Miigwetch (Miig for short!) is a Connecticut-native Chilean llama born on Thanksgiving morning 2016 at the Stamford Museum – and she even made the news! Her parents, Rosie and Lakota, were the museum's resident llamas. Her name comes from the Anishinaabemowin word for grateful, with "chi miigwetch" meaning "big thank you."
Miig joined our farm family along with two Argentinian llamas from Rowanwood Farm in Newtown, CT: Maple and her daughter Summer. All three have found their forever home here at The Farm on Deep River, where they love greeting visitors with their gentle curiosity.
Meet the Goats!
Our playful goat family brings endless entertainment and joy to the farm. Leading the herd is Sugar, our wise matriarch who keeps everyone in line.
The comedy duo of Dinah Might and Sargent Peppercorn are always up to mischief, while sisters Violet and Powder (also known as Jinx) can often be found plotting their next adventure together.
Ron (Howard) Weasley brings his own brand of magic to the barn, and Tom Brady truly lives up to his name as the G.O.A.T. of goats. Rock star Eddie Van Hoofen struts around with unmistakable style.
Mother-daughter pair Gabby and Maple round out our herd with their sweet dispositions and gentle nature. Each goat has their own personality, and they're all eager to meet you – especially if you have treats!
Meet our organic, egg-laying hens!
Meet Richard the Rooster, the proud protector of our feathered family. This handsome fellow watches over his flock of 34 harmonious hens with dedication and style, crowing each morning to welcome the new day (and laying us nearly 30 eggs a day!)
Meet our ducks!
Meet Baby Baby, also known as Mr. Mayor – our unofficial farm greeter! This charismatic duck rushes over to welcome every visitor with enthusiastic quacks and waddles. Born right here in Deep River, Baby Baby is a true survivor. After being attacked by a bobcat, he was lovingly nursed back to health and now rules the farm with charm and confidence.
Mr. Mayor recently welcomed three adorable ducklings, and he takes his mentorship duties seriously.
And the rest of the crew!
You’ll also spot Felix the Cat, Cherie and Jim’s dogs Betty and Butters, and many others around the farm.
